How can CODING help improve your child’s ANALYTICAL THINKING?

Analytical skill includes the ability to use logical thinking to break complex problems into their component parts, in order to simplify and solve them. Analytical skills help in analyzing various things in life, from personal problems to workplace conflicts, in a clear-headed and objective way, without “losing your cool” and not letting personal emotions get in the way of making important technical decisions. It is a valuable skill to acquire, something that would help an individual go far in life. It helps an individual choose a belief or activity in a balanced way.

Coding greatly involves critical and analytical thinking, that follows a process of identifying a problem, analyzing it, coming up with probable solutions, testing these solutions, and finally putting them into action. Each of these steps is a valuable part of analytical thinking that can be applied anywhere in life - from major decisions to interpersonal relations. It promotes creative thinking and objective reasoning.

Coding, like analytical thinking requires a lot of practice and repeated trials and errors. It is not a skill you master in a day. It requires hours and days and weeks and even months of reading, studying, researching, and practice, a lot of practice, to come to a level where you can confidently code, and make decisions. This, in turn, develops in the coder, the skill to be able to make decisions analytically and dealing with situations in life where one needs to sit back and do some thinking to get over it.

Furthermore, since the field greatly involves creative thinking, there is no one absolute way to get a task done, in coding. There are endless possibilities of how a problem ought to be solved, what method has to be used, and what code applied. Each task would have different requirements and a new line of thought. Each program that is written would have to be unique in its own special way. Coding teaches the child this ability to think differently and inventively in each situation of life, while at the same time remembering and making inferences from past experience and learning. The variability helps the child understand the wide range of possibilities in life, whilst dealing with any problem whatsoever.

So encourage your child, to code, take them to coding classes and give them lessons that they can practice and work on. Give them codes to solve in class, and problems to work on. Let them work on rewriting old codes in a new and different way. Let them experiment with their mindsets, and explore new fields of coding that might even surprise you. And most importantly, make sure they have fun along the way! At KidsChaupal, we create a nurturing community for kids to explore and venture into the depths of their interests, skill set, and abilities. KidsChaupal helps you and your kids to recognize and discover the child’s true potential whether it is coding or any other field your child wants to be associated with.
