Momentum – The Ultimate Solo Dance Competition for Kids (Ages 4 to 18)
Get ready to witness the rhythm, passion, and talent of young dancers from across the country at Momentum, the largest virtual solo dance competition! Designed for children aged 4 to 18, this exciting event gives budding dancers the platform to showcase their moves, creativity, and style.
The competition kicks off online, where participants submit their dance performances, and the top finalists will be chosen to perform at the grand finale held live on 30th November at the prestigious Nimhans Auditorium. It's an event filled with energy, entertainment, and amazing performances you won't want to miss!

Age Categories
- Kids: 4 to 6 years
- Junior: 7 to 12 years
- Prime: 13 to 18 years
Dance Styles
Participants can choose from the following styles:
- Bollywood
- Hip-Hop
- Jazz
- Contemporary
- Semi classical
Competition Format
- Preliminary Round (Online) : 21st October to 17th Nov 2024
- Participants must submit their dance videos online before the deadline.
- Videos should be between 60 to 90 seconds long.
- Video size must be up to 50mb and Mp4 format.
- Only solo performances are allowed.
- The video should be recorded in one continuous take with no cuts or edits.
- Use clear and audible music (no vulgar or inappropriate content).
- Ensure well-lit recording environments to highlight dance moves.
- Finale (Offline):
- Shortlisted participants will be notified by 20th of Nov
- Shortlisted participants will perform live in Bangalore on 30th November.
- Duration of the live performance: 2 to 3 minutes.
- Participants must bring their own costumes and music in a USB format.
- Make sure the music matches the registered style for the final round.
- Shortlisted participants will be required to travel to Bangalore and would receive an reimbursement up-to 10,000/- (Based on actuals – Travel & accommodation apart from participants from Karnataka)
- Participants travelling within Karnataka state, except Bangalore will receive a reimbursement up-to 5,000/-
Judging Criteria
- Choreography: Creativity and originality in the routine.
- Technique: Mastery of movements and steps specific to the dance style.
- Expression: Facial expressions, body language, and storytelling.
- Stage Presence: Confidence and engagement with the audience.
- Costume and Presentation: Appropriate attire and overall presentation matching the style.
General Rules
- Attire: Costumes should be age-appropriate and reflect the chosen dance style.
- Props: Minimal hand props are allowed but must be approved in advance.
- Language: Song lyrics and performance content must be family-friendly.
- Copyright: Participants must ensure music tracks are free from copyright issues.
Safety Measures
- Ensure the dance space is clear and safe for online video submissions.
- For the finale, participants are responsible for adhering to venue safety protocols.
