In the past decade, we have come to realize the importance of meditation for us. We have realized it is important not just for the older people, but for the adults too. However, most of us still find difficulty in sitting still with our eyes closed in utmost silence and inactivity for more than 5 minutes. It ain’t easy. The simple act of doing nothing, closing our eyes, and sitting still is so difficult for most of us, when we literally have to do nothing, say nothing, and think nothing!
Therefore it is important to introduce meditation in the children as well, irrespective of their age. You might think that they don’t need it because they are not yet stuck in the vicious circle of the world with a lot of worries, tension, and obstacles. But meditation is not just a saviour. It is the very essence of our being. It connects us with our true self, with our actual energy, with the truth, and brings us in synchronicity with the Universe.
Introducing meditation at a very young age is even better since kids are yet to get stuck with a myriad of thoughts. Moreover, it will also teach them the art of doing nothing and sitting still. And once even the children will start meditating from a very young age, they will become better at dealing with different situations, understand their real self, realize their true worth, remove toxicity and negative influences from their minds, articulate their heart, arrange their thoughts, introspect, look within, and stay in harmony and balance.
It will also help them to understand better even at school, to become empathetic towards people in their lives, to build an effective memory and sharp mind, to be more creative and imaginative, concentrate better, stay refreshed, stay healthy, and build an inner strength.
Moreover, there are numerous benefits one can reap from meditation. They will build a better understanding of life around them, value creation and other beings, appreciate what they have, have profound senses, invest in their propose, deal better with their negative feelings of insecurity, jealousy, guilt, and anger, and be more forgiving towards the people. From the very beginning itself, they will stay connected with their higher being and they will turn into more evolved and spiritual beings.
It is never too early and never too late to start meditating. If you can teach it to even a 6-month-old kid, do that. Meditation has many deeper layers of benefits. The benefits that have been mentioned here are only on the superficial level. Through ages, it has been observed that meditation brings a person closer to the truth of life and existence. It fills the mind with the knowledge of the vast Universe. It broadens the scopes of one’s potential to infinite lengths. It also makes us see things that are not visible to the naked eyes and hear the sounds from very far off distances as well, enhances the sense of smell, of sensing and identifying vibrations around us, and of developing a very clear vision that can even look beyond time and dimensions.
The schools and parents alike should focus on including meditation in the children’s schedule and give it just as much importance as any other thing. It ought to become a part of their lifestyle. If you’ll meditate along with your kids, it will motivate them further. It will benefit your kids as well as you. There are many ways of doing meditation. You can choose any way or keep shifting from one way to another. But your kid must sit in a still position, doing nothing, with closed eyes, focusing on breathing, and letting their mind take them off to any place it wants to wander into.
