Now that school classrooms have turned online since the beginning of the lockdown and are going to remain so in such condition for some more unpredictable time, the reaction of children to these online classes differ from person to person. Many a time students do fail to understand the concepts they are being taught. They get distracted more easily on the screen. Most of the children most of the time are merely completing the formality of getting their attendance marked.
This situation is going to give rise to more and more number of students seeking help from tuition centres. In fact, children have been able to go to their tuition classes with the lifting of the lockdown in the country. Tuition teachers try their best to take care of social distancing, and the usage of mask, hand washing and sanitizers in the premises of their homes as long as their building or area does not come under the containment zone. Even the parents feel a sense of security as they can monitor the protection of their child well. Also, the good thing about the tuition classes is that most of the students that attend the class come from the same or connected area. The only scope then left for the parents, students, as well as school teachers alike, is the growing dependency on tuition.
Until a few years back, the kids were only sent to these tuitions when they were weak in a particular subject. There had been some kids who never felt the need to attend these extra classes. What they studied in their schools had been enough for them to comprehend the lessons and perform well in exams. But since the past few years, parents have been feeling more comfortable in sending their kids to private tuitions just for the sake. Tuition ensures a thorough understanding of the concepts and maintain regularity in the studying time for the students so much so that parents don’t anymore have to insist and remind their child time and again to study and do the homework. It is being taken care of by the tuition teachers now.
Tuition hence has become an extended version of the school itself, a mini-school of a kind, where these teachers maintain a balance between what is taught at school and its revision at home. There are separate tests that children are made to do in tuition classes which prepare them for the school tests and exams as well. Moreover, tuitions have made it possible and easier to focus on the learning and growth of every individual. These teachers maintain better one-to-one interactions and problem-solving sessions with the students.
With the emergence of e-schooling because of COVID lockdown, since schools are yet to become more technical and efficient in being able to successfully carry out online classes, the students have got dependent on their tuition classes now. They are unable to maintain focus and attention on the screen, but many of them are able to attend the classes that are held near their homes with children coming from the same area. They have become dependent on their tuition teachers for the understanding of the lessons and preparation of the exams. This lockdown has henceforth developed a need for an upgrade for the schools as well as for the tuition and coaching centres.
