Skill development in children needs to start from home. We expect our kids to learn everything from schools when in fact parents are every kid’s 1st teacher. If the right mindset of self-learning and the correct attitude towards building skills is developed from a very young age, these children will not have to struggle to up-skill themselves and get employed in the future.
Parents have a big role to play in this.
As parents, their most important role is to help the children explore their passion. They need to prepare them well for the competitive environment. It is important to realize that there is no shortage of opportunities if the child is well skilled and prepared for the hurdles.
While mainstream education is very important, it is high time to realize that there are skills beyond the regular studies that can give our kids an edge and prepare them to be industry-ready.
We live in an era of technology. It would be foolish to ignore the importance of skills such as programming, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data handling in the present decade.
Parents should select the correct medium to introduce their children to these new-age technologies.
Students as young as 12 years old are learning new-age technology such as machine learning, artificial intelligence. The kids of this generation are very aware and have numerous resources and opportunities at their disposal.
Parents and teachers, as guardians and flame bearers should understand that learning is a lifelong process – it has no end. This shouldn’t even stop at any point. The basic idea is to learn to grow slowly and steadily like the moral of the rabbit-tortoise story.
Parents and teachers should keep exploring the latest innovative formulas of learning for the children. We should encourage and help them to inculcate this attitude of constant learning in themselves.
It’s very important to provide our kids with career counseling at a young age. This will help us build the right mindset in children so that they view themselves as new-age members of society. They can understand which skills they should develop to contribute to that society.
They have to be counseled to see themselves as valuable people who can contribute to our society and family. This will help them to build self-respect and understand it’s importance. The next generation will understand how vocational education will help them to enhance their skills and provide them with a job opportunity in the future years. Not just a job, vocational education also teaches life skills, hard and soft skills, and builds confidence. It’s also important to understand how vocational education can give them recognition in the job market.
It’s important to think about our future generation as a developing nation.
KidsChaupal helps to guide the next generation in a way that they help themselves to develop to their full potential. Mainstream education focuses more on academia, but skill training, which focuses on identifying, training, and nurturing talent in any desired field, will help the students to be confident and job-ready.
